National Federation of Municipal Analysts

Kathleen Aho, President, will be serving on the National Federation of Municipal Analysts (NFMA) General Obligation/Dedicated Tax Disclosure Committee that is revising NFMA’s current best practices on disclosure for general obligation bonds.  She will be participating as a representative of the National Association of Independent Public Finance Advisors.  The NFMA was chartered in 1983 as a not-for-profit association with the goals of promoting professionalism in municipal credit analysis and furthering the skill levels of its members.  It has over 1,000 members nationwide.

Springsted, MSBA and MSC execute sale of MNTAAB Pool in excess of $271M

Springsted, in partnership with the Minnesota School Boards Association and Minnesota Service Cooperatives, has sponsored the Minnesota Tax and Aid Anticipation Borrowing (MNTAAB) pool for Minnesota school districts for nearly 20 years.  The summer 2010 pool is one of the largest pools in the history of MNTAAB with a par amount over $271,000,000.  The MNTAAB pool provided 73 school districts with an opportunity to cash flow borrow at a reduced cost and benefit from low interest rates (borrowing yield at 0.35%).
